Hello Dear

Why Hello There!

Sorry I haven't posted but things have been pretty hectic since check in, which is where I left off last time. Get ready for a nice big update.

Check In: Saturday 7th January 2012:
So this morning we checked out of our hotel and caught a shuttle across to Vista Way arriving just before 12. Amy and I were put in the same apartment and in Patterson Court. Yay. We got to our apartment to find it was a 3 bedroom, now filled as another Aussie moved in with us, and on the 3rd floor. I will be fit by the end of this program!

Like I said in our apartment we have 3 bedrooms which means 6 of us live here.
We are;
Aussie: Myself, Amy and Kirrily.
American: Lauren, Kelly and Stephanie.

A nice little bunch. After checking in we went to Walmart, got some basics and that was it. The next day were ours to do whatever we pleased and we just relaxed. Kinda.

Orientation Day 1: Monday 9th January 2012:
Today we got up and went to Vista Way to get our housing id's printed and sign our rent agreement forms and some other forms before waiting to board a bus to Casting to find out where we would be working. Our casting appointment was for 2:30pm. We left Vista at 2:45pm. Not a good sign. We arrived at casting and joined a line, 40 minutes went by, we got through and joined yet another line. We waited, and waited, and waited and before we knew it 2 hours had passed and we had barely moved! We all eventually got through and found out where we would be working. Yay... Because they told us it would be done by 4, not one of us had lunch before hand, so we all went to CiCi's All You Can Eat Pizza for $5 and pigged out. Then went home to bed for the next day.

Orientation Day 2: Tuesday 10th January 2012:
Today we got up and went to the Commons for our Immigration talk that went for half an hour. (All the starts we had up to today were all early. I was falling asleep in the talk :/ ) After that talk we walked across to the outlets and had a look around to see what we could find, if anything. Before we knew we headed on back to the Commons for our housing meeting. It again took forever, and ran overtime - we don't get paid for casting or the meetings.. -.- After that we once again were free to do what we pleased before Traditions the next day.

Traditions: Wednesday 11th January 2012:
Another early start - 8am. Blergh! That meant a 6:30am bus. BLERGH. Traditions was okay, boring, fun then a bit emotional. Today was the day I first stepped into the Magic Kingdom and into Walt Disney World. I almost cried, I got so overwhelmed. We then went back and Mickey came and surprised us with our name tags. Again, almost cried. At the end of the session the trainers told us a story about a guest that visited the park and again, almost cried. Was good to leave because straight after we went to Hollywood Studios before I saw Wishes for the first time. AMAZING. Then it was home to bed, because I had training the next day.

Training Day 1: Thursday 12th January 2012:
I had my first day of training at Hollywood Studios. Was pretty basic. Walk through of the park, talking about different points and Magical Moments that can be created, at the end we went into a classroom and watched a slideshow with the basics and some beliefs of Hollywood. After that at 2pm our coordinators came and got us and we did e-learning until 4pm. Talk about going to sleep. I breezed through and was okay. I got home and went to bed to prepare myself for the next day!

Magic Kingdom Visit 1: Friday 13th January 2012:
Time to visit a park properly I think. So I went to Magic Kingdom by myself and went character hunting. I found a heap of characters, watched the shows and had a great day not going on rides. I found my favourite character Peter Pan so I was a happy child. :) Not much happened, I was there from 9:30-4pm, just walking around and exploring.

Fairy Godmother

Aladdin and Jasmine

I got to give Stitch a kiss. He then melted. Tehe

  Rapunzel

Peter Pan 1

EPCOT: Take 1 and Magic Kingdom Day 2: Saturday 14th January 2012:
This morning Amy and I went to EPCOT to explore there and we ran into almost every character you could possibly imagine, I'm not even kidding!

Winnie-the-Pooh and Tigger

Alice In Wonderland
Mary Poppins
Marie
✩ Belle and Beast
Aurora
Rafiki
Chip and Dale
Pluto
Stitch
Daisy

We had the best time unintentionally character hunting! We also went on Test Track, Space Mission: Green and Ellen's Energy ride. All were good, but Test Track wasn't what I thought, too high hopes from previous cast members I think.  After that it was off to Magic Kingdom again for the afternoon.

At Magic Kingdom, Amy went to see the Pirates show and I went to find Peter Pan and he had just gone out as we arrived. I lined up and had the BEST conversation with him. I can't wait to go back again, he is defiantly my favourite character out of all. Amy had her pirate boots on and I pointed them out to Peter who replied with "I've never met a girl pirate before ... Do you smell like a boy pirate? They smell of fish. But that wasn't it, Peter went over and started sniffing her! It was a tad awkward but she survived and smelt good and not of codfish, at least according to Peter.

  Peter <3
After that we went and rode 'It's a small world' and got our fast passes for Peter Pan's Flight! YAY! We then watched Dream Along With Mickey for the 2nd time, watched the Electrical Parade! AMAZING! Amy told me Pan wasn't in it and I got a bit sad, but then when Hook's ship came around Pan was there!!!! YAY! Best night ever! Then a dragon came along and the boy who was on top riding him sounded very familiar, I think he must be friends with Pan. He should introduce us sometime.
Electrical Parade:

We then decided to get hot chocolate. Bad idea! When we got it and walked out all the lights went out for the photo show on the castle, I led us however to a spot where we could see and then to an even better spot for Wishes. If there is one thing you need to do before you die, it is watch Wishes. It is amazing and emotional and everything inbetween. After that we went and met the Princess's and Mickey and Minnie, who both loved my Mickey key necklace.

My new boss!
When we came out the electrical parade was on again and I got a good shot of Peter. Yay. It was this time we also met Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen. DROOL.
Tiana and Naveen.
(His face cracks me up)
After that it was off to Peter Pan's flight which was FANTASIC, I loved it and want to go again!

Then it was time to leave. 10:45 we caught our bus, got home at 11:15, then caught a cab to Walmart to buy a few things and my work shoes. :/ 12:30am we got home and I fell asleep at 1am! Not too good when I had to be up at 5:30! Which now brings me to today.

Training Day 2: Sunday 15th January 2012:  Today was training day 2. I got shown around Muppet Vision 3D. Learnt the basics of all the roles, 2 we will go over more detail on Tuesday. It is fairly easy, after coming from a theme park and having worked in our cinema. I'm not too stressed about it. The uniform is horrid and I may post a picture if I ever get a nice one. Highly doubtful though. I have some pretty cool workmates who are friendly which is a plus and my trainer was pretty awesome. I also found out I'm getting trained in Star Tours which can be either the ride or Jedi Training. I'm pretty excited, more so because my brother will be incredibly jealous! Tehe. Today was a long day, 7:30am-4pm but time flew by, because I had fun, so hopefully the rest of my days will be like that, and I'm slowly learning the different muppets. Hooray.
I got home, had a nap, then woke up and did my washing with Amy before I cooked us dinner. Which brings me to right now. 9:40pm.

Shortly I will be going to bed, because tomorrow Amy and I are going to Hollywood Studios where I will finally get to go on Toy Story Mania and meet Buzz and Woody, I'm doing it first thing so I DON'T miss out or have to wait 120 minutes for the ride!

Hopefully blogging will become easier now that the big stuff is out of the way.

Until next time,
Stay Magical
xx
