So I'm currently sitting in LAX waiting for my next flight which is at 10:45pm. Last flight in my journey HOORAY! Now I'm really excited for this because it has been a fairly shit journey to get here. So let me take you back to the beginning; yesterday morning (Brisbane time).
10:00pm: Go to bed and sleep.
02:00am: Wake up, get water go back to sleep
04:00am: Wake up again, shower, sit in the lounge room, double check everything.
05:30am: Leave home to get to Brisbane airport.
09:30am: Family leaves the airport and I sit with Amy and her family/friends.
09:55am: Make our way downstairs to go through security and wait to board at 10:30am.
This is where things started to go wrong.
10:30am:We are sorry to announce but there is a delay with your flight, and we currently have engineers working on the aircraft.
11:00am: We are still experiencing this delay unfortunately and will have more information at 12pm, please come to gate 81 and collect a voucher to use in the terminal.
12:00pm: We are still experiencing this delay unfortunately and will have more information in 50-60 minutes.
01:00pm: We are still experiencing this delay unfortunately and hope to have you boarded soon.
01:20pm: We are pleased to announce boarding has commenced for flight blah blah to New Zealand.
All whilst this was happening Amy and myself were beginning to freak out and wonder what would happen if we missed our connecting flight to LA and then consequently our flight to Orlando. However that was not the case as we left Brisbane International just after 2pm and arrived in Auckland just after 8pm local time.
While at Auckland we looked around, I called mum and we went on the internet. Before we knew it, (because of the extended delay at Brisbane we didn't have to wait as long in Auckland) it was time to board our 12 hour flight to LA.
Lunch on this flight was alright; Cajun Chicken with Potato Salad and a Brownie. YUM!

For our 12 hour flight Amy and I managed to get 2 seats alone next to each other right at the back so we could stay reclined the whole flight. :) This flight was smooth, went off without a hitch and we arrived 30 minutes ahead of schedule.
Supper on this flight was average; Lemon Pepper Chicken with Mashed Potato, Peas and Corn and the most amazing dessert ever, Plum Ice-Cream! So good, I could've had 2nds.
Then it was snack time and it was the choice of; Chips, Shapes or Shortbread. Amy and I both had Shapes and a Hot Chocolate roughly 6:00am LA time before our next meal was served.
Breakfast was nice again; White Chocolate Pancakes with Apple, Blueberry and Cinnamon Compote with Vanilla Syrup, Fruit Salad and Strawberry yoghurt.

Then before we knew it, we were over LA and preparing to land. On this flight I slept a fair bit and froze so much I needed 2 blankets!! Poor Amy froze towards the end but they had no blankets left, so we have both dosed up on Cold and Flu tablets.
02:00pm: Amy and I get through Customs and security and begin our journey to the other terminal to check in for our Delta flight, we both feel fine at this stage and we check in with no problem. We then spend 90 minutes looking for our departure gate before finding it, and then walking around a bit more before deciding to go to a different terminal which we can access and having dinner.
04:50pm: Dinner time American style. McDonalds. Problem? Yes! There small meals are our Aussie large meals!! I was shocked, I know that I'll only ever order a kids size from now!
On our way back from dinner we got a lift on a shuttle that the man was driving through the airport and at the end I asked if we tip him, he said something and shrugged his shoulders. We gave him $2 and he was like Oh Okay. Straight after Amy and I went to google to find out how much we should tip etc but couldn't find much, I will ask tomorrow morning when we check in.
06:27pm: As I sit here and write this, the feeling of my brain still being on the plane and lightheaded feeling I am experiencing isn't showing any signs of leaving. FML. I can only hope I sleep on my next flight and wake up feeling healthier.
06:55pm: I have now finished this post and am going to hang with Amy and relax before our last flight. Until tomorrow morning.
Stay Magical.
Stay Magical.
xx
